Call for Papers International Young Scholar Symposium
on Counter-Terrorism, Peace, and Religiosity

The Jean Monnet Network on EU Counter-Terrorism (EUCTER), in collaboration with Southeast Asia Academic Mobility (SEAAM), and Universitas Muhammadiyah Barru, with a support from Rumah Produktif Indonesia (RPI), Ikatan Alumni Pesantren IMMIM (IAPIM), Indonesian Universities Consortium on Socio Religious Studies (IUCSRS) – Dewan Pendidikan Kabupaten Maros are pleased to announce a three-day conference on counter-terrorism, human rights, securitization, peace, and religiosity, and hereby invite proposals for papers as the initial stage for collaborative research.

The three-day conference aims to highlight the existing gaps in the human rights-security architecture, and assess how scholars of international law, international human rights law, international humanitarian law, security law, security studies and related fields can draw on the collaborative research in the near future.

If you are interested in presenting a paper at the conference please submit an abstract of 200-250 words in word format to bidhln@rpi.or.id, by 31 January 2024. Please include a brief bio with your abstract (50-100 words). Selected presenters will be informed by the early of February.

EUCTER is a research-led excellence network, comprising fourteen partners, with the aim of advancing cutting-edge blended learning formats with a strong policy relevance in the area of the EU Counter-Terrorism.

The network is led by the International Centre for Policing and Security – University of South Wales includes the University of the West of England Bristol and Cardiff University in the UK, Dublin City University in Ireland, the University of Augsburg in Germany, the Egmont Institute in Belgium, the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands, the University of Pisa in Italy, CIDOB Barcelona and the University of Deusto Bilbao in Spain, the University of Iasi in Romania, Metropolitan University Prague in the Czech Republic, the IDC Herzliya in Israel and the University of Jendouba in Tunisia.

SEAAM is a network of academician in Southeast Asia. It was started on November 2016 in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The SEAAM platform is a vehicle of collaboration to articulate higher education activities.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Barru is a transformed institution from Sekolah Tinggi Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (STKIP) Muhammadiyah Barru in 2023. Located in the heart of Pancana the home of I Lagaligo.
